Mr Toppers was founded in the 1990s by London-born entrepreneur Keith Sellers, who had a simple but powerful vision — to create affordable, high-quality hairdressing for everyone. At a time when salon prices were rising, Mr. Toppers opened its doors with haircuts starting from just £5, quickly becoming known for great value, friendly service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The idea proved to be a huge success. At its peak, Mr. Toppers expanded to 12 salons across London, earning a loyal customer base and a strong reputation for affordable, quality hairdressing within the local community. Across the salons, the business was carrying out over 8,000 haircuts every week, making Mr. Toppers one of the busiest and most recognisable independent salon groups in London.

Like many independent businesses, the COVID pandemic brought significant challenges, and sadly the business was reduced to just one remaining salon. However, the heart of Mr. Toppers never disappeared. Today, the salon continues to be proudly family-run, with Lucy Sellers (Keiths daughter) leading the business for the past 18 years and continuing the values the salon was built on — affordable prices, experienced stylists, and genuine customer care.

We are proud to still offer reasonably priced haircuts for London while keeping the friendly, long-standing team that our customers know and trust. Decades later, Mr. Toppers remains dedicated to providing quality hairdressing with the same community spirit it was founded on.
